The Druze Villages of the Golan
The Druze are an ethno-religious people group who primarily live in four countries: Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Israel. The Druze of the Golan Heights, however, are a people without a state, having generally refused Israeli citizenship after the Golan Heights was officially annexed in 1981, but not wanting to cross the border into southern Syria. Though the Druze religion is secret, their hospitality is famed, their food is delicious, and their friendship is warm. Come meet the Druze: enjoy the beauty of Mount Hermon, and hear the story of a small people group split by borders, and understand how recent history and politics affects everyday life for this minority.
